Mother's Day Fun

This weekend was my first mother's day and it was wonderful. I never knew that being a mom was so amazing or I would have done it a lot sooner! (Well, probably not, but it sounded good!)

Saturday night John, Rubi, Artie and I cooked out on the deck. It was such a pretty night and the mosquitos didn't even bother us that bad.

Sunday morning John and Rubi woke me up to a wonderful breakfast of eggs, bacon, toast and bananas. They had also gotten me a pretty pink hyacinth and balloon (which I'm sure Rubi picked out). I can't wait to get the hyacinth planted out in the yard - I think it'll look really pretty under the tree in the front.

Sunday evening we went over to Aunt Jojo's house for a BBQ. Rubi and the kids had a ball in the pool. Rubi was wore out and couldn't even stay awake to eat dinner.

Rubber Ducky You're The One

Because we only have a shower we had to get creative on how to give Rubi a bath. I saw this on Target's website and thought that she would love it. She totally digs it! When you press the beak it quacks - it "quacks" her up! :) I don't know what we'll do when she outgrows the duck. Any suggestions?

Rubi stands up at the end of her bed and hollers when she's ready to get up.... looks like the sleep bug got the best of her here. Like John says, Rubi actively tries NOT to go to sleep so it always looks like she just gets so exhausted she collapses. Which is probably case!
